Coaches have:
  • A diverse background in assisting people to improve their performance
  • A proven record of bringing out the best in people
  • Ability to provide the support necessary to give individuals access to their untapped or unde-rutilized competencies and skills - an on-going activity.
Coaching Goals:
  • Support closing the gap between the current situation and the identified desired future.
  • Locate untapped knowledge, talent and skills.
  • Expand personal awareness to see other possible choices and responses.
  • Uncover the hidden assumptions, perceptions, beliefs, expectations and habits that block success.
  • Support new skills and more accountable practices.
  • Produce sustained effective behavior and improved results

 Working Definition of Mentoring

Mentors have:
  • A history of competence in the industry or position of Client
  • An implied authority to make recommendations based on personal past experience
Mentoring Goals:
  • Expand industry awareness and connections
  • Share personal success strategies
  • Provide a historical and/or global perspective of the position or industry
  • Enable the future by providing the experienced wisdom of the past
